Dear members,

We would like to present you with some food for thought to consider before you post.

We have always embraced the fact that freedom of speech is one of the most important rights an individual has and therefor we have decided long ago to moderate accordingly.

We feel that an equally important right is that every individual has to be treated with respect and dignity.

With this in mind we feel that we do have to regard certain bounderies.

Obviously not everybody will agree on this or on our bounderies, but we are aware of the fact that we cannot please everybody.

This means that we will be moderating a bit stricter than we may have been doing in the past.

We do not discourage discussion and opinions. Actually we welcome them, but we will keep a closer eye on the content and the way these opinions are presented.
To give you an idea, for instance:

We will not tolerate any homophobic, racist, abusive, overtly sexual content. Not in general nor directed at someone whether it is George or a fellow member.

This does not mean you cannot have any criticism, ofcourse you are all free to speak your mind. We are however a George Michael forum and the idea is that fans meet here and discuss. So if you disagree with something George says or does, please feel free to say so... but discuss, do not slag off.

Also we have sometimes noticed abusive comments towards the people George considers as friends or loved ones. Fans do not have to like those people the way he does, but they can at least respect his choices. So there is nothing wrong in saying you wouldn't choose Kenny as a partner. Calling him names or worse is not OK.

We have seen an increase in foreign language being used. Please remember that this is an English forum.

Please keep in mind too that using all capital letters in email or forums is considered yelling. You may just want to get your point across, but you will find quite often that the opposite happens.

We say Planet George is the place George Michael fans call home, so please act the way you would at home.
We want this place to be friendly, where everyone can speak their mind knowing they will be treated with respect.

We do not like banning people and we don't if we can prevent it, but we will if necessary.
Also we do delete and/or close topics when we feel it's appropriate.

If you feel we deleted some comment of yours wrongfuly, or if you experience problems with a fellow member, please get in touch via PM. Please do bare in mind however that moderators are volunteers and that they do this in their spare time, so allow some time for an answer.

We think you all want this to be a pleasant place to hangout at and we trust that you understand and will work with us.
